The Global Health Consortium is pleased to announce that this year’s Global Health Conference of the Americas will continue to address the topics that are central to the GHC’s mission and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted global health and prevention programs.
Addressing various aspects and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will include discussions on social and economic inequalities, national strategies to control COVID-19, policy and best practices, the importance of health communication, education during a pandemic, and how we can do better.
The COVID-19 pandemic greatly impacted vector-borne disease prevention and management, the conference will include topics that include the potential effect on the Dengue Integrated Management Strategy and ongoing malaria control programs.
Participants will discuss vaccine development for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), program implementation and vaccine access, the pandemic's impact on national immunization programs, vaccination in the life course, and vaccine confidence.
Advances in preventing antimicrobial resistance will be discussed, including molecular epidemiology in ASP surveillance as well as current challenges facing prevention efforts.
