Dr. Enrique Paz Argandoña
With over 25 years of public health experience and expertise, Dr. Paz is the CEO of the Foundation for Health. This nonprofit organization addresses the most pressing global health challenges and opportunities. He is the director of Public Health in Nuestra Senora de La paz, Bolivia. Dr. Paz holds an MD, MPH, and EIS degree.
His core competencies include immunization routine systems, zero dose agenda and the Big Catch-up, global health security, epidemiology, and resilient health systems. As a technical expert on the Global Fund's panel for Resilient, Sustainable Health Systems, he guides pandemic preparedness and response, surveillance and laboratory systems, anti-microbial resistance, biosecurity, and commodities and supply systems. He also leads the global health dialogue on reducing fragmentation, promoting UHC, PHC, and SDGs, and fostering south-south cooperation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Paz has held influential roles in development and humanitarian sectors, such as Bolivia's Minister of Health, Sports, and Social Welfare, and senior positions at CDC, Sanofi Pasteur, World Vision, and JSI. Dr. Paz has managed large and complex projects, mobilized resources, and built partnerships with diverse stakeholders in Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
