Four years worked as physician in family medicine for the Ministry of Health in Nicaragua.
Seven years worked in clinical research, mostly on dengue; implementation of new dengue guidelines in Nicaragua, evaluating the new dengue case definition and the severity classification. Also providing solid evidence on unusual dengue clinical manifestations caused by co-infections (Dengue and pandemic Influenza A H1N1).
Other works on: HIV (pediatric and adults), influenza surveillance in pediatric population, kidney chronic disease in pediatric patients, and prevalence of tuberculosis in high risk population in Nicaragua.
Several posters accepted and presented at the international Trop Med meeting.
In several occasions invited as speaker in international dengue meetings, including the dengue international course in Cuba.
Since 2013, I joined the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) for the Regional Dengue Program, providing technical support to the countries of the Americas of topics related to the prevention and control.
