Dr. Jurai Wongsawat
Dr Jurai Wongsawat , pediatric infectious diseases specialist, currently is serving as a senior advisor at the Department of Diseases Control ( DDC) , Ministry of Public Health ( MOPH) ,Thailand. Her duties and responsibilities are consultants of national infectious diseases control programs for the DDC, Thai MOPH including immunizations, vector – borne diseases ( dengue, chikungunya and zika), general communicable diseases, emerging infectious diseases ( EID) and hospital infection control. She is also working at the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute ( BIDI) which is the designated infectious diseases hospital under the DDC, Thai MOPH, for the EIDs including SARS, Avian Flu, Pandemic Flu 2019, MERS –CoV and lastly COVID-19. As being one of the consultants for Division of Vector Borne Diseases, DDC, she has continued opportunity to help planning strategies aiming to achieve targets for dengue control at the national level.
Apart from that, she works as the pediatric infectious diseases specialist at BIDI for a long period of time. Also as a committee for the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of Thailand, she takes this opportunity to apply the scientific work for the benefit of public health in Thailand.
