Florida International University hosted a panel of public health experts who discussed the latest on COVID-19 in the U.S. and the changing landscape of the pandemic in Asia, Africa and the Americas. The final virtual event of the series, COVID-19 Vaccines: A Global Experts’ Summit. Experts explored vaccine availability, hesitancy, and boosters. The event was hosted by FIU’s Office of the President in collaboration with the Global Health Consortium at Stempel College, in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. The COVID-19 Vaccines: A Global Experts’ Summit kicked off at the beginning of the year with an event that brought together leading experts from across the globe to discuss and strategize a path forward in the pandemic’s response. The second event took place in June, featuring researchers and public health experts from FIU, the World Health Organization, Baylor College of Medicine, UNICEF, and other organizations.
