2018 Conference

The major theme of this conference is to “Build Alliances in Global Health”. The meeting’s objective is to bring together a multi-disciplinary group of experts from all over the world to discuss advances in and challenges to key issues of public health. The conference focused on relevant topics of public health significance including immunizations, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, vector-borne diseases, epidemics & pandemics, disaster preparedness, environmental health, and the U.S. opioid epidemic.

The 2018 conference and workshops provided an opportunity for all attending to be exposed to various topics and experts associated with the field of public global health worldwide. We are pleased to welcome participants from approximately 25 different countries. Global alliances are vital to overcoming the serious health challenges of our time, and this conference is a source for developing relationships across borders.

Four workshops served as the focal point of the conference: lead and mercury impact on the environment and human health; familial hypercholesterolemia as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases; and, arbovirus control and advances in immunization in the Americas.
